On 7-8 October 2026, the SUN-DT consortium gathered in Ankara, Türkiye, for the project’s General Assembly, hosted by project partner Inavitas. The two-day meeting provided an opportunity to review project progress, discuss ongoing activities and challenges, and coordinate the next steps towards developing advanced digital tools to improve the performance and reduce the costs of Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) tower plants.

The first day focused on technical progress across the project’s Work Packages (WPs), with presentations and discussions covering heliostat calibration and characterisation, Digital Twin development, dispatch optimisation, operation and maintenance optimisation, and the SUN-DT integration platform.

The second day continued with updates on demonstration activities as well as dissemination, communication and exploitation.

The meeting also included the presentation of DIGISOLAR, the sister EU project funded under the same Horizon Europe call. DIGISOLAR is developing an integrated software suite combining Digital Twin technology, AI-based fault detection, demand forecasting and Model Predictive Control to optimise hybrid solar thermal systems.

The second day concluded with guided visits to Inavitas’ facilities and the Wattox inverter factory, providing partners with first-hand insights into local research, development and manufacturing activities.
The SUN-DT consortium extends its thanks to Inavitas for hosting the meeting and to all partners for their active participation and contributions towards achieving the project’s objectives.
