SUN-DT at EERA Workshop on Photovoltaics & Digitalization
The SUN-DT project was presented at the EERA Workshop on Photovoltaics & Digitalization, a joint initiative by two EERA Joint Programs: Photovoltaics (JP PV) and Digitalisation for Energy (JP DfE).
The workshop took place on 25–26 February 2026 in Vienna, Austria, as a hybrid event. It brought together experts from photovoltaics (PV), measurement, meteorology, modelling, artificial intelligence (AI), data science, and digital solutions, with the aim of bridging the gap between digital solutions and real PV applications, as an urgent challenge in the energy transition.
On the second day of the workshop, the SUN-DT Project Coordinator, Marcelino Sánchez González (CENER), delivered a presentation titled “Solar 4.0: The Era of Intelligent Solar Energy”. He discussed how digitalization and AI are already transforming the solar energy sector, presented the smart use of novel digital tools within the SUN-DT project, and highlighted the potential synergies they offer for applications in PV energy and the broader energy transition.
