Coordinator

CENER

CENER is a technological center specializing in applied renewable energy research, providing services R&D&I, quality testing, component certification services, and technical assistance. The project is led by the Optics, Vision, and Artificial Intelligence Group within the Department of Solar Energy Technologies and Storage at CENER. This Department has deep expertise in concentrating optics, solar receiver modelling, heat exchanger, power cycle design, and digitalisation and tool development for heliostat characterization and flux modelling. In this project. CENER will actively contribute to technical assistance, modelling, simulation, optimization, and evaluation of SUN-DT concept.

DLR

DLR is the German aerospace research and technology centre with the core areas aeronautics, space, energy and transport, as well as security and defence research. The DLR Institute of Solar Research is developing technologies to use concentrating solar thermal systems to generate electricity, heat and fuels. The research also focuses on condition monitoring and quality assurance of solar thermal power plants and photovoltaic systems, solar energy meteorology and energy-related building assessment.

CIEMAT

CIEMAT is a Spanish Public Research Institution. Since its formation in 1951, it has developed and led R&D projects in the fields of Energy, Environment and Technology, placing the institution at the forefront of science and technology. As a technological research centre, CIEMAT fosters links between academia and industry Concerning their expertise applied to this proposal, it is noteworthy that CIEMAT coordinates the EERA transversal Joint Programme "Digitalisation of energy", the largest European association devoted to the research energy sector. Profiting from this position, it leads several digital initiatives and advocates high-level institutions such as the European Commission's Action Plan for the digitalisation of the energy sector or the ENTSOE Task Force on the digitalisation of the energy sector.

IMDEA Energy

Institute IMDEA Energy has been created by the Regional Government of the Community of Madrid to promote and carry out R&D activities related to energy, with a special emphasis on issues concerning renewable energies and clean energy technologies Institute. IMDEA Energy will participate with two departments: High-Temperature Processes Unit, expert in Concentrating solar thermal systems and technologies and Central receiver systems; and the Electrical Systems Unit, expert in Energy management and energy efficiency applications.

ACCIONA

ACCIONA is an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) company dedicated to the development of carbon-neutral energy solutions, including concentrated solar power (CSP), biomass, and waste-to-energy plants. In the field of CSP, ACCIONA has extensive expertise in design, operation, and maintenance, making it a leader in the sector.

COX

COX is a vertically integrated utility with innovative solutions around water and energy. The company provides services in the field of engineering, construction, operation and maintenance, innovation and asset management, with a track record of more than 4,5 GW renewable energy projects built or under construction worldwide. COX is currently owning and operating Khi Solar One, a CSP plant using tower technology with a solar field composed of 4.120 heliostats, net capacity of 50 MWe and located in South Africa where the tools will be developed.

ESTELA

ESTELA is a non-profit industry organization to promote the deployment of all concentrated solar thermal technologies (CST). ESTELA gathers members from the CST industry and research institutions along its whole value chain that actively promote sustainable green energy produced by CST and thermal energy storage. As the sole European CST/CSP industry association, ESTELA leverages its extensive expertise in CST technologies, strong network of stakeholders, and in-depth knowledge of the CST industry and EU policy landscape.
